Editor-in-Chief Frances Hesselbein and longtime award-winning Leader to Leader were recognized by industry peers with an APEX 2013 Awards of Excellence in the category of Magazine and Journal Writing and also in the category of Site & Content Writing for leadertoleaderjournal.com.

APEX Award of Excellence

The online leadertoleaderjournal.com, honored in the category of Site & Content Writing, regularly offers full articles from Leader to Leader journal selected by editorial team and highlighted in our monthly E-alert series From the Desk of Managing Editor Bruce Rosenstein.

In the category of Magazine and Journal Writing, the winning submission featured articles from Frances Hesselbein, Howard M. Guttman, Kathleen Allen, Rajeev Peshawaria and Joseph Greeeny, The  Executive Forum lead by Bill George brought together contributions from Jeffrey Gitomer, Doug Conant and Mette Norgaard, Jennifer Prosek and Dave Ulrich and Norm Smallwood.

The APEX Awards for Publication Excellence is an annual competition for publishers, editors, writers and designers who create print, Web, electronic and social media. Communications Concepts, Inc. sponsors the APEX Awards, and advises professionals who write, edit and manage business communications, on best strategies and practices. Concepts publishes business communication reports, including Writer's Web Watch, an e-report for professional communicators, and special reports on topics such as corporate writing and Web publishing.

In the Twenty-fifth Annual APEX Awards, awards were given in 138 individual categories, within 12 main categories including: newsletters; magazines and journals; magapapers and newspapers; annual reports; brochures, manuals and reports; electronic media; social media; websites; campaigns, programs and plans; writing; design and illustration; and one-of-a-kind publications.

According to the APEX judges, “The awards were based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.”
